We are delighted to have signed a contract to purchase Equilibrium Health and Fitness Club, Mentone, which adds to our growing number of clubs in Melbourne.
Equilibrium Health and Fitness Mentone has long held
a reputation for being a quality facility which we believe
fits well with our culture and expansion plans. We pride
ourselves on delivering a high level of training to
all staff with a view for career development within
the company. The purchase will provide extended opportunities
for those employees already working at our Le Gym site.
As you are already aware the Le Gym site currently
has a redevelopment proposal before the City of Kingston.
In the event that the planning application is successful,
the purchase of Equilibrium provides us the capacity
to continue to service our Le Gym members, while the
Le Gym is being redeveloped.
Equilibrium Mentone will be owned by the same directors
as Le Gym.
In the meantime, it will be business as usual at Le
Gym. It is important that when members ask questions
about the redevelopment and the Equilibrium purchase
you are well informed and can confidently state what

What is the timeframe for redevelopment?
The planning application is still before the City of
Kingston and until it is approved no plans or timelines
can be confirmed. Having said that, we are confident
it will be approved – that is why we purchased
Equilibrium Mentone.
When it is approved, are you intending to transfer Le
Gym Members to Equilibrium Mentone?
Yes. The most important consideration in the purchase
of Equilibrium Mentone was ensuring our existing Le
Gym members had somewhere to train when the redevelopment
commenced. There is considerable unused space at Equilibrium
Mentone, this space will be able to accommodate a large
amount of the existing Le Gym strength equipment. We
are confident that Le Gym members will be pleased and
appreciate the interim training facility we have planned.
Will members be able to use both
sites?
Initially, both Equilibrium and Mentone member will
not be able to use both clubs with their existing memberships.
However, once things settle down, we will look to introduce
an option for multiple use. This will be an additional
$10 per month for both term and DD members.
Will the Equilibrium club continue
to trade as Equilibrium or will it change to Le Gym?
It will continue to trade as Equilibrium.
Will the memberships be the same price?
Pricing policy for both clubs will be kept separate?
When the memberships for both clubs are merged we will
try and maintain the status quo for all memberships.
What if the member has paid up and they don’t
want to go over to Equilibrium?
We believe that the majority of members will experience
an enhanced training facility than the one they are
currently training at. All we ask is the members to
wait and see what their new training facility will be
like. As mentioned, the unused space at Equilibrium
will be fitted out with a lot of the existing strength
gear at Le Gym, ensuring that our members are familiar
with a lot of the gear.
Those original Le Gym and Equilibrium members that
maintain their existing memberships will be the only
ones able to gain special discounted foundation memberships
to the new health club on the Le Gym site. A very good
reason to maintain membership.
